The project aims to represent urban life in all its facets: starting from public life in open-air urban spaces, then moving on to shared semi-public areas, up to the private spaces of apartments. The project intends to contribute to greater permeability and quality of spaces and urban life, with the intention of becoming a new socialization hub for the neighborhood. The volume of the building, rectangular and compact, with its striking structure and its robust materialization constitutes a relevant presence in the neighborhood. The two-story plinth houses the public functions. The day care center for the elderly and the nursery school are located on the ground floor, and both have a reserved external space and a direct connection to the central courtyard. The second wing of the day care center, the laundry room and a multipurpose room for co-working and neighborhood events are located on the first floor around a large terrace. This terrace, in addition to serving as an outdoor space for the day care centre, also acts as a link between the lower floors and the apartments, facilitating meetings and relationships between residents and users of the services on the lower floors. The apartments are located on the five upper floors, which are accessed via two stairwells inserted in an unheated common area, which crosses the building from north to south, dividing the apartments and serving as a community terrace for the inhabitants.
